C'est Inspiré is simply that - what is inspiring. Where the words end, images continue to speak. Seeing all that is around us, we seek some aspect of something that is life enhancing... something that you would like to be reminded of - to revisit. Something to capture and bring into your world, not leave behind... . That is why I take a camera everywhere; have spent countless hours organizing images in scrapbooks and pouring over them later to revisit the place, the people, the memory.

So, C'est Inspiré may be a single photo - or it may be 50, it may mean one thing to me, another to you - the meaning isn't important. Did it inspire? Did it make you smile? Did it bring back a pleasant memory? One or all of the above will do.

During a brief period of his life, the legendary art historian Bernard Berenson kept diaries where he wrote about how to see - and what he saw. These diaries were published under the title The Passionate Sightseer and edited by Raymund Mortimer.

Anyone, anywhere, anytime can be a passionate sightseer - just look.

What's New : “Espalier” by Charlotte Moss for Pickard

We’re thrilled to announce Charlotte’s latest design for Pickard china – Espalier. A perfectly balanced mixed of natural and architectural design, Espalier compliments every table and can easily be mixed with other place settings.

“The garden has always been a source of inspiration in my work as an Interior Designer.  From the cultivated parterres of the important gardens in Europe,¬ the simple yet abundant kitchen gardens of Provence, gardens of all descriptions all across America, to my own backyard, inspiration manifests in all shapes and forms.  Each year, I anxiously await the first flowers of spring.  Wintertime is spent researching and preparing for next spring by sitting at a desk by the fire with snow covering the lawn dreaming of possibilities. The opportunity to create another pattern for Pickard is always an opportunity to reflect on those sources of inspiration and create something new. Espalier was born from that dreaming.” – Charlotte

Espalier is available now in our online shop.

What's New : “Left Bank” Fragrance by Charlotte Moss for Agraria

Left Bank Collection by Charlotte Moss for Agraria

Left Bank Collection by Charlotte Moss for Agraria

Inspired by frequent buying trips to Paris, Charlotte imagined a fragrance that embodies the mystery, romance, and sophistication of the city’s Left Bank. Crisp lemongrass, crushed pink peppercorn blossoms, frankincense and cashmere wood create a warm sophisticated blend for a bit of sultry and exotic mystery.

Some photographs from Charlotte’s scrapbook of some of her favorite places on the Left Bank.

“I love wandering, exploring, savoring all there is…lunch at Voltaire, a fruitful shopping day, what could be better?”

Peeping into a courtyard off boulevard St-Germain. Six columns topped with black urns – so simple, so chic…just love them.

Flowers exploding out of my favorite flower shop onto the street and enticing passers-by.

“Our inspiration for this Christmas room….candles in the snow, reading by the fire, capriccio, gold medal and Graham Stuart Thomas Rose, Evangeline Bruce’s home in Georgetown, Villa Farnese, Tiepolo & Poussin….cashmere, quilted silk, embossed suede, persimmon, pomegranate, pyracantha. A room that says…“Roll back the rugs, Turn up the music.
