Neal Johnson has antiques, French furniture, and the best lamps and shades in Charlotte. I did half the lamps for my new Aspen house in Neal's store and can't wait to go back. Not only does Neal have a great eye, she's fun to be with, and we continued our good time over a delicious meal at Barrington's that evening.

Capitol Dress Shop

I had a great time in the Capitol Dress Shop buying a fab Pucci rain slicker and a Peter Som jacket. When I returned to New York, I received a little note explaining that while I was in the Capitol Dress Shop, the owner, Laura Vinrootpoole, was shopping at The Townhouse in New York! She bought two Slim Aaron's photos, one of C.Z. Guest and the other of Babe Paley. What a small world!
